Why Mini Guard exists.

I've spent the last fifteen years developing products for well-known companies and brands. I learned how a good product should feel in your hand — and how much work hides behind the word 'simple.' Then my child was born, and somewhere between the first steps and the first day of school I saw it clearly: my child would be ready for a little independence — walking a bit ahead, playing where I couldn't quite see — long before being ready for a phone. I went looking for the right thing to give a young child. A smartphone was far too much. A kids' smartwatch was a screen I didn't want on a small wrist. A tag on a backpack can't call back. The thing I wanted didn't exist. So I'm building it. Mini Guard is the product I went looking for and couldn't find — stripped back to what a young child actually needs, and honest about where it is in the making.
